Biography
Mr. Turcan has been in the blood banking profession since 1989. Since that time he has held senior and staff positions at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Children’s National Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and the Central Blood Bank of Pittsburgh. He served for ten years as commissioner, chair, and staff on the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs/AABB Specialist in Blood Banking Committee on Accreditation.
Since 1994, Mr. Turcan has used lectures, audio conferences, and online instruction to teach the profession of blood banking to blood banking specialists, medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians, residents, fellows, and physicians.
Currently, Mr. Turcan is the director of the U.S. Army Blood Bank Fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He is also the director and coordinator of the Specialist in Blood Banking Examination Review course at GW.
