Biography
Shabnam Samankan, MD is an assistant professor of Gynecologic, Breast and ENT pathology in the Department of Pathology at George Washington University (GW). Prior to joining GW, Dr. Samankan completed a subspecialty fellowship in Women’s Pathology at University of Miami, FL. She also completed a subspecialty fellowship in Head and Neck pathology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York and an Anatomic/Clinical Pathology Residency at State University of New York at Buffalo where she received The Adrian O. Vladutin Award for Excellence.
Clinical Expertise
Dr. Samankan’s clinical efforts are focused on Women’s pathology including gynecologic/perinatal and breast pathology. Dr. Samankan also provides diagnostic services in Head &Neck and Endocrine pathology.
