Biography

Patricia S. Latham, MD, EdD is Professor of Pathology and Medicine. She has expertise in hepatopathology and serves as Chief of the Autopsy Service.
 
Dr. Latham serves as the preclinical Discipline Director for Pathology in the medical school and health sciences curriculum. She works closely with faculty and students to adapt the curriculum to the evolving needs for medical training and best practices in medical education. Dr. Latham is actively involved in education scholarship and serves as the Associate for Faculty Development & Education Research in the Center for Faculty Excellence, with responsibilities as Director of the Academy for Education Scholars at the GWU School of Medicine and Health Sciences..
 
Dr. Latham is active in biomedical research and serves as Director of the Research Pathology Core Lab to provide histopathology services and pathology support to research investigators in the GW community. She has a special research interest in diseases of the liver and is currently active in collaborative studies that investigate Fatty Liver Disease and the development of Hepatocellular carcinoma.
