Biography

Dr. Mary Piazza Maiberger is native to the Washington area. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in English before attending medical school at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Earning her medical degree, she was recruited into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Maiberger completed an internship in Internal Medicine as well as her Dermatology Residency at MCV/VCU where, in her last year, she was Chief Resident.  She joined the VA Medical Center in Washington, D.C., soon after residency to become Residency Program Coordinatror and then Section Chief of Dermatology in 2014. 



 

Research

Dr. Maiberger has numerous publications and book chapters dealing with medical dermatology.  In particular, she has interests in systemic medications used in dermatology and the cutaneous manifestations of internal disease.
