Biography

Marc Garbey holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Ecole Centrale de Lyon (1984) and an Habilitation from University of Lyon (1989).  The scientific work of Marc Garbey covers multiple aspects of computational science in physics, chemistry, biology and ecology. In the last 10 years, his interest has shifted to medicine and more precisely surgery thanks to a long-term collaboration with Dr. B. L. Bass in general surgery and S. Berceli in vascular surgery.

He has approximately 200 peer review publications and is the main inventor of 5 patents related to medical procedures and devices. Dr. Garbey is also the CEO of ORintelligence.com.  Dr. Garbey will be overseeing innovation and technology development at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences.  He is a Professor in the Department of Surgery.
