Biography

Dr. Boniface is Chief of Emergency Ultrasound and Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at George Washington University.  He received his BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his MD from New York Medical College.  He completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and then his Residency and Chief Residency in Emergency Medicine at Boston Medical Center.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. 

Dr. Boniface created the emergency ultrasound program at George Washington University Hospital and has trained residents in the use of point-of-care ultrasound for over 15 years.  He launched the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship in 2007 and has trained more than 20 fellows since that time.  He has presented and lectured on ultrasound topics at a wide range of national academic meetings for emergency medicine, internal medicine, and critical care, and has taught point-of-care ultrasound around the globe.  He also served as Associate Residency Director for 10 years, and continues to focus on medical student, resident, and fellow education.
