Biography
Dr. Dring graduated from The George Washington University's DPT program in 2008 and received the program's Outstanding Alumni award in 2011. He became a Board Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist in 2014. Dr. Dring joined The George Washington University's physical therapy faculty full-time in 2021 after holding adjunct appointments from 2016-2021. His primary areas of teaching responsibility include management and care of older adults, health promotion and prevention in physical therapy practice, and functional anatomy. Dr. Dring has extensive practice experience in a variety of care settings including inpatient rehabilitation, home health, and long-term care. From 2014- 2018 he founded and operated an outpatient physical therapy practice dedicated solely to the care of older adults. His research interests focus on age-related losses in muscle strength, community fall risk reduction, and optimal aging. Dr. Dring is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy. He was president of APTA DC from 2014-2020 and currently serves as APTA DC's Chief Delegate in the APTA House of Delegates. In 2021 he was awarded the APTA DC's Senora Simpson Service Award.
