Biography
Gaby Moawad, MD, is an Obstetrician Gynecologist with The GW Medical Faculty Associates and an assistant professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He completed an American Association of Laparoscopic Gynecologist (AAGL) fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) at The GW Medical Faculty Associates. He is a member of the gynecology team which participates in The MFA’s Menstrual Disorders Center and The Pelvic Floor Center.
Dr. Moawad completed his undergraduate medical training at the Lebanese University. He went on to excel during his four-year residency at The George Washington University, where he served as administrative chief resident in his final year of training. Dr. Moawad received several awards, including the prestigious AAGL award for excellence in endoscopic surgery.
Dr. Moawad offers his patients a wide range of gynecologic services, including treatment of menstrual disorders and fibroids, advanced gynecologic surgery, treatment of endometriosis and pelvic pain, and management of pelvic organ prolapse. His caring approach to patients and individualized treatment permits him to provide exceptional care that addresses the needs of all patients. In particular, he strives to provide a minimally invasive approach to his patients’ surgical needs whenever possible. This includes laparoscopy, robotic surgery and hysteroscopy. He also offers many office-based procedures including hysteroscopy.
Dr. Moawad is a published author with a particular interest in fibroids, endometriosis and minimally invasive gynecologic procedures. He is also a junior fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of the American Association of Laparoscopic Gynecologists.
